Strollers

Strollers suck. I’m sure your thinking, he’s crazy strollers are great. Well I beg to differ. Have you ever tracked the time you are wasting getting out the stroller, putting away the stroller, moving it out of the way? I think you’d be surprised how much time it kills from you enjoying the activity you are doing.

If you are a serial stroller purchaser, I think you should think about why you need so many strollers. Is it that you need a stroller for each situation, or are you really in denial on how bad strollers are? Are you really trying to fill a problem with a solution that just doesn’t work well? Do you really need a light stroller for going to the park, a heavy stroller for the trip to Disneyland, a medium sized one for, well I’m not quite sure why you’d need more than one.

I know what your thinking, the my kid is too heavy to carry around with all the accompanying stuff. Well first off if the kid is too heavy to carry, I’d surmise it may be time they started using their own two legs for propulsion. How about getting the kid in the habit of exercise early? Many habits we have in life we develop at a young age, why not give your kid the gift of exercise.

For all of the stuff, do you really need carry all of those supplies? I’m guessing not. Sure it’s great having an emergency snow parka in the bag for the freak snow storm while you are visiting Disneyland, but 99% of the time you aren’t going to need it. Why not shed it?

Now I’m sure there are some situations that strollers are great for, but for the most part they aren’t.

  1. Dear Do Be Afraid Writer: You are in the minority. There is a reason why strollers get all that retail space at Babies r us. http://sparechangeormytwocents.blogspot.com/2009/08/stroller-dilema.html
